Political life
He was elected a Member of Parliament from the Chunarughat-Madhabpur constituency of Habiganj in the 1970 provincial elections and was subsequently elected as a Member of Parliament from this constituency a total of 5 times in the elections of 1973, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2008.
Awards and honors
He was awarded the Independence Award in 1971 for his outstanding contribution to the war of independence of Bangladesh. The Chunarughat Municipal Auditorium has been named after him as 'Bir Muktijoddha Enamul Haque Mostafa Shaheed Auditorium'. He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2013 for his special contribution to the war of liberation.
Death
He died on 25 February 2016 at Square Hospital in Dhaka.
2. Chitta Ranjan Dutt

Chitta Ranjan Dutt (CR Dutt): He was a sector commander in the liberation war of Bangladesh. He has been the Sector Commander of Sector 4. For his special contribution to the war of liberation, he was awarded the title of Bir Uttam. [1] He is associated with the 'Sector Commanders Forum'.

He was elected a member of the Jatiya Sangsad from the Chunarughat-Madhabpur constituency of Habiganj in the 1970 provincial elections and was elected a member of the Jatiya Sangsad a total of five times from 1973, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2008 elections.
Career

Chitta Ranjan Dutt joined the Pakistan Army in 1951 A few days later he was commissioned as a 'second lieutenant'. In 1975, he fought the first battle in his military life He fought for Pakistan in the 1965 Indo-Pak war as a company commander in Asalong. The government of Pakistan rewarded him for his heroic contribution in this war
Role in the liberation war
After the formation of the Mujibnagar government on 10 April, Tajuddin Ahmed was nominated as the Prime Minister and MAG Osmani was given the charge of the Liberation War. He divided Bangladesh into 11 sectors Apart from the eastern part of Sylhet district and Khowai Shaistaganj railway line, Sector 4 was formed with an area up to Sylhet Dauki road on the east and north side and Chitta Ranjan Dutt was appointed the commander of this sector. After taking charge as Sector Commander He first set up camp at Rashidpur in Sylhet Tea gardens spread over a wide area He used the cover of the tea garden to determine the strategy of war Later he left Rashidpur and set up camp at Moulvibazar to facilitate the war.
The role after the liberation war
Chitta Ranjan Dutt was appointed Brigade Commander in Rangpur in 1972. There he made important contributions In 1973, the government felt the need to form a border guard for independent Bangladesh The government of Bangladesh gave the responsibility to Chitta Ranjan Dutt in this regard He later formed a border guard and named it Bangladesh Rifles. At present the name of this force is Border Guard Bangladesh. Chitta Ranjan Dutt was the first Director General of Bangladesh Rifles.Besides, he had to perform various duties from 1971 to 1984 From 1984 to 1986, he served as Headquarters Chief of Logistics In 1986, he became the chairman of the Muktijoddha Welfare Trust After a brief stint as chairman of the BRTC in 1979, he was re-appointed chairman of the Muktijoddha Welfare Trust in 1982. He retired in 1984. 
Awards and recognition

Chitta Ranjan Dutt was awarded the title of Bir Uttam for his heroic contribution in the war of liberation. Besides, the road from Kantaban in Dhaka to Karwan Bazar Signal was named as 'Biruttam CR Dutta' road. 
Death

Three days before his death, he fell in the bathroom of the house where he lived in Florida. Although his relatives took him to the hospital, he went into a coma. And the knowledge did not return. He died at 9 am Bangladesh time on 25 August 2020. [5] He wished that his last farewell would be in his beloved motherland. Respecting that wish, the body of Sector Commander of the Liberation War CR Dutt was brought to the country. On Tuesday (September 1, 2020) morning, after paying homage at Banani and Dhakeswari temples, the heroic freedom fighter was bid farewell. People from all walks of life including family members, former colleagues, socio-political and cultural organizations paid their respects. The Sector Commander of 71 A Bir was cremated at Sabujbagh Badreshwari crematorium at noon.
